We live in a democracy.
-government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.
Our economic situation is publicised beyond belief. Everyone knows companies are being, almost completely, taken over by the government. Which I guess if that's what they think is absolutely necessary, then fine. The government being more involved in our lives might be the thing to get this country out of the slump it has become stuck in. But what if it doesn't change back?
I want to know what people think of our country moving toward socialism. Good or bad. Long term or short term.
Beauty.

First we don't live in a Democracy. Think about the Pledge of Alliegance "I pledge alliegance to the flag of the United States of America and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands . . . " A true democracy is complete majority rule. A republic is a democracy but only with in the extablished rules.
Second government control is a disaster. There had never been anything the government has been in charge of that has worked? The government needs to get out of the way of the free market and let it work for us to get out of this.
